The models affected are the Humax PVR-9150T, PVR-9200T and PVR-9300T.
For several months owners have been experiencing problems such as freezing and locking up of the boxes.
It is not recommended to use this version other than for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Problems seem to arise when the Foxsat can't recognise the Memory Stick, due to formatting issues or when the box doesn't find the firmware update (file), due to it being in the wrong place on the drive or having the wrong file naming convention.
As part of the upgrade, the electronic programme guide (EPG) will now load in seconds rather than minutes.
Humax will be scheduling an automatic over-the-air software download for the fix in a matter of weeks, and hopes to confirm the exact dates shortly.
Humax will however aim not to release any software here that has not been functionally tested internally first and as such should present a limited risk to owners of products.
We would recommend however that you consider your level of comfort with the process of upgrading the product and if you do not fully understand the implications of your actions you should not proceed.
